What We Offer to Our NICU Families
NICU Family Day Out
Typically held every June, we put together a free mini-fair for all families who have experienced the NICU in our area. this includes train rides, a petting zoo, water play areas, faceprinting, snow cones, snacks, bounce houses, and so much more.
The NICU journey affects the entire family unit, and we invite entire families to come and share in the celebration, connection and memory-making that 4those has to offer. We create this space for our NICU families to experience the healing power of finding joy together after often long and difficult roads, and to promote healing and possibility as they watch their children, regardless of the outcomes of prematurity or other NICU-related stories, live incredible futures in the world beyond the NICU.

Parent Care Workshop
Each fall, we bring together parents and caregivers of former micropreemies (born <28 weeks and/or around 2 lbs.) to experience a morning of healing care and tender connection with others who have faced similar circumstances. This adults-only morning is focused on the personal healing journey after long, and often traumatizing, stays int he hospital with their child(ren), and creating new pathways toward hope and possibility in their futures.
Facilitated by a licensed family and trauma therapist, parents and caregivers spend time sharing their stories and receiving guided insight about trauma, healing therapies, and true self-care when so much of the post-NICU journey can still be lived in survival mode with medically complex children and experiences. It is truly a place to lay down the burdens of the micro preemie journey for a morning focused on shining a light on some of the most difficult pieces of our stories and creating new ways of healing and living full, beautiful lives for ourselves and our families.
